November has arrived as we all know that “Loy Kratong” which is one of Thailand’s memorable traditions takes place on a different day every year depends on the Thai lunar calendar.
“Loy” means “float” and “Kratong” is a special Thai floating decorated with folded banana leaves, flowers, candles and incense sticks.
Once the Kratong is ready to float in the rivers, you then make a wish before sending them away. Our generations have strongly believed that the “Kratong” carries away your troubles and offers up your wishes.
Another believe is that, to pay thankfulness to rivers that have given people lived along sides to use its water in their daily activities as well as to apologize those rivers in case they have done something bad to them.
These believes have passed on from one to our next generation so that we have had this beautiful culture nowadays to be proud of. This year, Loy Kratong will be held every where through out Thailand on the 14th of November,2016.
